Freestyle Skatepark was first opened in October of 1996 by The Bennetts for their son, Mark, an inline skater. However, Mark was not the only reason for the park's birth. The Bennetts also saw the park as a great way to help the local skaters stay off the streets. Since it's a 100% family owned and operated business, they take a lot of pride in the park and what goes on inside. The place is clean, the atmosphere is always friendly, and the business is very professional. The park itself is one of the finest anywhere. The rugged, precise craftsmanship with which the park was built is outstanding. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into the construction of those ramps and obstacles, and still do. (Well, okay, maybe not that many tears). Not to mention that a lot of the design and construction was done by skaters.
